Part 01 of the Vault’s file on Carmine Galante, 97 pages, read through the viewer’s OCR text layer. The headquarters file number is 92-3025. The serials are from the Top Hoodlum Program, 1956 to 1958. The stored image is the first page as the viewer serves it.

A New York memorandum of January 24, 1958 states that Galante, FBI No. 119495, “was born as Camillo Galante, February 21, 1910, in New York City” (the OCR garbles the name). New York police testimony in 1963 gave his birth year as 1912 (Valachi hearings). The two are recorded side by side on his person page; neither is preferred.

His killing in 1979 is described in the Commission case appeal.
