A record of the Federal Bureau of Investigation released under FOIA through the Vault. The Bureau's own pages are works of the United States government, public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105. The newspaper clippings filed in this part are post-1930 newspaper text and are not reproduced. The stored image is the part's first scan, an FBI teletype.

Part 03, marked “Final,” of the FBI Vault’s Moran file, fifteen scanned pages. The first scan, shown above, is an F.B.I. Teletype form. Its heading is legible, but the message text is lost in the dark scan. The Vault OCR of the other pages yields Bureau routing slips with the names of officials (Tolson, Ladd, Nichols, Boardman, Mohr) and the mastheads and date stamps of clipped newspaper items from Dayton, Cincinnati and Washington papers. The OCR shows stamps reading 1951, 1954 (“JUL 30 1954”) and 1956; the date range above is taken from those stamps.

Scan 6 was read on the image for this archive. It is a newspaper column, not a Bureau document, reporting a court appearance in Dayton, Ohio. Because the clippings in this part are newspaper text published after 1930, this archive does not quote them, summarize their reporting as fact, or store their images. A reader can view them at the Vault.

No Bureau memorandum or report in this part was read in full. What the Bureau did in the 1950s, and why the clippings were filed, is not stated in the pages read.
