The Vault lists the file in 25 parts, Part 01 through Part 25 (Final). This archive read Part 01 (249 scanned pages) and Part 25 through the viewer’s OCR text layer. Parts 02 to 24 have not been read. The page date is the year of a December 17, 1957 records check cited in the Part 01 report. It is not the span of the file.
Page 2 of Part 01 is an undated Bureau summary. Its OCR is poor, and the birth line is not legible enough to quote. It says that although he had been arrested on charges “from vagrancy to murder, he has served only one sentence since 1916, that is, 18 months in Leavenworth” for income tax evasion. It says his criminal activities “center in the domination of labor unions beginning [with] Cleaning and Dyeing,” and that “He is alleged to have participated [in] the recent campaign to elect JAMES HOFFA” as president of the Teamsters, “although no confirmation of this exists to date.” Bracketed words are added where the OCR drops them.
No death record was found in Part 25. The file pages read here assign him no rank.
