- Records of the Federal Bureau of Investigation released under the Freedom of Information Act. A federal work, public domain in the United States under 17 U.S.C. § 105. Redactions are as released by the FBI. Newspaper clippings filed inside FBI files are third-party material and are not covered by this basis.
The Vault viewer shows 96 pages. Almost all are FD-302 surveillance reports and continuation sheets from the Boston file read in the OCR as BS 183B-1528, dated February through August 1989, on physical surveillance of Francis P. Salemme, with a few deleted-page information sheets.
The content is chronological sightings and logs, and the names of others are largely redacted. The OCR is poor, so this page describes the file in general terms only. The file number is given as the OCR reads it.
In 1999 Judge Wolf recorded an informant’s report of June 1989 about Salemme and the shooting of Salemme on June 16, 1989 (91 F. Supp. 2d 141). This part of the Vault file was not read closely enough to connect its entries to those events.
