Paul DeLucia was examined in executive session on 9 September 1950 (Part 5, pp. 1-52), after a subpoena for ten years of his records. Asked his other names, he gave “Ricca and Salvi.” He said he had served in the penitentiary from the last day of 1943 to 1947, that he kept records only from 1947 and had burned the earlier ones, and that he owned a farm of about 1,100 acres in Kendall County, Illinois, and houses in River Forest and Long Beach.
Asked about Al Capone and Frank Nitti (pp. 14-15), he said he met them in 1928 or 1929 and was a friend, not an employee. At p. 17 he said he knew Murray Humphreys “to see” but “never had anything to do with” him. Asked whether Nitti killed himself (p. 49), he answered: “That is right.”
