A federal record (Record Group 118, Records of U.S. Attorneys), public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105. The catalog marks the file unit "Partially Restricted" for access (personal information and grand jury material) and "Possibly Restricted" for use for the parts not digitized. The two digitized items are marked unrestricted for access and use.

The National Archives catalog lists this file unit in the series “Selected Case Files” (NAID 278744) of the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Record Group 118. Its title is “U.S. v. Arthur Flegenheimer, alias “Dutch Schultz,” alias “Arthur Schultz,” alias “George Schultz,” alias “Charles Harman,” alias “Joseph Harman,” alias “Arthur New,” alias “Charles New”.” The scope note says it consists of records related to an investigation of Flegenheimer. The file is held in Boxes 64 to 75 at the National Archives at Kansas City.

Only two items in the file unit are digitized: the Division of Investigation’s identification order of November 19, 1934 and the Treasury Department’s broadside. The rest has not been seen by this archive.

The catalog gives no date range and no docket number for the file unit, and this page records none. The identification order states an indictment of January 25, 1933 for violation of the federal income tax law. That is probably the case the file concerns, but the catalog does not say so.
