A file of the Assassination Records Review Board, a federal body, held by the National Archives in Record Group 541. A United States government record, public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105. The catalog lists use as unrestricted and access as restricted in part under the JFK Act.

A file unit in the Assassination Records Review Board’s records (Record Group 541), in the files of Brian E. Rosen, titled “Exner, Roselli, Giancana, Logs.” The catalog lists 240 digitized pages. Only page 1 has been read for content; pages 2, 4 and 6 were seen and are blank apart from a declassification stamp.

Page 1 is a fax cover sheet dated 17 June 1997 from an attorney to T. Jeremy Gunn of the Review Board, headed “RE: Hoover O&C Document with Note re JFK.” It forwards a Hoover document dated 4/1/60 “which has the content entirely blacked out but a handwritten note on Sen. JFK,” and a sheet showing “the vast amount of withholding on the FBI’s release of “see” references on Judith Exner,” and asks: “Is there something we can do about this prior to her deposition?”

The page shows that the Board’s files include material about Exner and that she was to be deposed. It states no other fact about her. No image is stored, because the page is a private attorney’s cover sheet; the file is cited here as a whole. This archive does not connect this file to the unnamed “close friend of President Kennedy” in the Church Committee report; no record opened here makes that connection.
