- A record of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, held by the National Archives in Record Group 21, Records of District Courts of the United States. A United States government work, public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105. The National Archives catalog marks use "Unrestricted." The National Archives at Fort Worth holds the file.
The National Archives’ scope note reads: “This file consists of the criminal case of Unites States v. Raymond Hamilton, Clyde C. Barrow, Bonnie Parker, Henry Methvin, Joe Palmer, and Hilton Bybee. The defendants were accused of theft of weapons from the Texas National Guard armory.” The catalog records 8008 as the court’s case number and gives no dates. Thirty-two page images are online; they were not read for this archive.
The accusation is the indictment’s. The Bureau’s 1933 letters on Browning automatic rifles recovered from the gang and traced to National Guard units in Illinois and Oklahoma are filed in the Weapons and evidence section; this Texas case is a different armory.
