The Eastern District of New York’s archived release of July 12, 2006, issued by U.S. Attorney Roslynn R. Mauskopf, announced the convictions of Bonanno family soldiers. It placed them in a longer run of cases: more than seventy Bonanno members and associates prosecuted, “including Bonanno family boss Joseph Massino.”
The release says that Massino’s successors had also been convicted: Anthony Urso, “who led the crime family from January 2003 to January 2004,” and Vincent Basciano, “who assumed control thereafter.” These are the U.S. Attorney’s statements in a press release. They are cited on the person pages as such, not as court findings.
