Sam Carollo
Appears in the 1951 Louisiana hearings as a man 'deported here recently' and as the father of Anthony Carollo; an exhibit says he was deported to Italy in 1947 and is 'believed to be in Mexico.' The record spells the name Sam, Sylvestro and Corolla and does not say they are the same man.

On the record
- 1951 — Exhibit 7 of Part 8 states that Marcello's niece married "Anthony, son of Sylvestro Carollo" on 23 April 1947, and that Carollo "was deported to Italy in 1947, but is believed to be in Mexico, where Marcello sends him funds." A committee-compiled summary.
- 25 January 1951 — Committee counsel Downey Rice asked Marcello "Do you know Sam Carollo?" and "Did you provide an automobile to Sam Carollo for his return from California?" Marcello declined to answer on self-incrimination grounds. The questions are not evidence.
- 1951 — Asked about a man "deported here recently," Thomas Edward McGuire, agent in charge of the Bureau of Narcotics in New Orleans, answered "Sam Carollo" and said he had arrested him in New Orleans "in the years gone by." Jefferson Parish Sheriff Frank J. Clancy described "Sam Corolla" as "a fellow just recently deported" who he had heard was convicted "of dope one time."
The hearing record uses three spellings: “Sam Carollo” (counsel’s questions and a narcotics agent’s answer), “Sam Corolla” (an OCR reading in the sheriff’s testimony) and “Sylvestro Carollo” (Exhibit 7). The opened pages do not state that they are the same man, and this page treats them together only because the questions and answers refer to a recent deportee. No birth or death date, no role and no position is given in the sources opened, and none is entered.
Everything below is a committee exhibit’s statement, a witness’s recollection or counsel’s question. The questions are not evidence.
