This is a 593-page file in Record Group 21 at the National Archives at Kansas City. Only the first scan was read, so the case caption and docket are not recorded. Scan 1, stored here, is a Department of Justice, Penal and Correctional Institutions form from the United States Penitentiary at Leavenworth, dated 7 July 1936, addressed to the United States Commissioner at Leavenworth. In it Louis Stacci, No. 46087, states that he is unable to pay a $10,000 fine and that he was sentenced on 5 January 1935 by the United States court at Kansas City, Mo., to a term of two years. It certifies that his term expired on 13 August 1936 and that on 13 September 1936 he will have served thirty days solely for non-payment of the fine, and is signed by Warden F. G. Zerbst.

The FBI’s history essay gives the sentences as two years and $10,000 each on 5 January 1935, consistent with this form. The Alcatraz pages for Galatas and Mulloy, filed separately, carry the same offense and date.
