Chart D was presented by Deputy Chief Inspector Shanley on October 8, 1963, at printed page 308 of Part 1. Counsel Jerome S. Adlerman said “this was known originally as the Profaci family.” The chart was scanned in four segments, at NCJRS PDF pages 331 to 334. The image stored here is the first segment, PDF page 331.
The chart is headed “The Giuseppe Magliocco Family.” Giuseppe Magliocco, alias “Joe Malyak,” is in the box labelled “Boss,” and the chart names him successor to Giuseppe Profaci, deceased. Salvatore Mussachio, alias “The Shiek,” is labelled “Underboss.” This chart spells the alias “The Shiek,” and Exhibit 8 prints “The Sheik.” Caporegime and soldiers follow, with photographs and activity codes. No consigliere box is printed. Segments at PDF pages 333 and 334 have been checked only through the text layer.
This is a subcommittee exhibit. The names, ranks and relationships printed on it are the labels of a 1963 police or staff chart. They are not findings of the subcommittee or of a court, and this archive does not copy any of them onto a family page or a person page. The scan is the Bureau of Narcotics library copy of the printed hearings. The fold-out was photographed in overlapping segments, so a name at the edge of one segment may be cut off and repeated on the next.
