Exhibit No. 24 faces printed page 430 of Part 2, at NCJRS PDF pages 468 and 469. It is a Detroit Police Department chart of gangland slayings, shootings and missing persons by year. It was entered with Exhibit 23, a 31-page summary that was filed with the subcommittee and not printed.
The image stored here is the first segment, PDF page 468, which has no text layer. It carries the exhibit number, the heading “Gangland Slayings, Shootings & Missing [Persons]”, a scale of victims from 1 to 25, and the years 1917 to 1950. Slanted notes mark the Volstead Act and the National Prohibition Act of 1919, the 1930 depression, a 1931 revamping of the state jury system, the 1933 repeal of Prohibition, and 1934 federal legislation. The second segment, PDF page 469, carries the years to 1962. The bars are faint in the scan, and this archive does not read counts from them. This archive has not viewed the page images. It has read only the text layer, which reads part of the year axis, and PDF page 468 has no text layer. No image is stored here. The chart is at those pages of the scan.
This is a subcommittee exhibit. The names, ranks and relationships printed on it are the labels of a 1963 police or staff chart. They are not findings of the subcommittee or of a court, and this archive does not copy any of them onto a family page or a person page.
