On the record
- November 1932 — The FBI history page says Raymond Hamilton left Barrow and Parker "and was replaced by William Daniel Jones in November."
- November 1933 — The FBI history page: "Jones, who was frequently mistaken for 'Pretty Boy' Floyd, was captured in November 1933 in Houston, Texas, by the sheriff's office."
- Undated — The FBI captions a snapshot "Clyde Barrow (left) with William D. Jones, one of the Barrow gang."
Filed in the Public Enemies side section. This is not an organized-crime family page: the records here are federal fugitive, court and prison records.
No birth or death date is recorded. The snapshot is not a federal work and is filed on the owner’s decision, so it is not used as this page’s portrait. A National Archives inmate photograph of a W. D. Jones exists, but the catalog does not identify that man with this one, and it is not filed.
